So lovely to hear your voice! What a treat. I love the option to share where we're reading from, too. Am also absolutely dying to try prash and xanth... I know I harp on about it, but I do so love the dialogue you create. Reading this series has always felt very cinematic (and makes me so grateful I don't have aphantasia)

Thanks Chloe, love your thoughts and feedback as always 😊

I thought of you when writing about that prash ;)

Someday maybe a cinematic experience. But only after that book of yours that needs to be written ...

Haha! Well, I'm pleased to forever be associated with debauchery now ☺️

Ok, the book, if that's what it takes for this to get to the big screen then consider it written!

Haha, make it so! (Oh wait, am I still writing it?? 😅)

Oh yeah, you’re writing it! Or are you fictionalising it..? Just let me know what you need from me & I’ll do my bit. Obviously our plan is going very well so far & I think our organizational skills bode well for the project as a whole 😬

😅

Fictionalising. That's it. Just send me the extensive notes when they're ready, which no doubt you have been working on extensively in a highly meticulous manner 😉

Cool story. My first exposure to this. (Apart from a comment of yours somewhere else?) An interesting world.

Thanks Beth. I appreciate it may not have been the easiest to just slip in to, so really appreciate you diving in. I'd recommend the specific Precipice page if you are wanting to read any more :)

The audio is GREAT. (Hello!)

Also - more eye movements here. Working well.

Aggressive dialogue is so hard to do with finesse. It really works here!

Thanks so much Kate ☺️

Glad to hear re: those the movements. I was conscious of it after your post ;)

Heh, thanks. The years in Australia hopefully haven't softened the accent too much!

Jisa has quite a mouth on her in this one! Having read her escapade with Cloud, I had no issue connecting her //thoughts// to that place and time. Could have also just used italics. Not sure about the //

The big heist plan then is to climb that huge wall and hope not to fall? 😂 I am with Zinn on that one, but Jisa does what she wants anyway! I like the setting, the messiness of the exterior mirrors the internal mess Jisa finds herself in, I feel.

Finally, never do a heist on an empty stomach. I wonder though, she might need help with the Kernel.

PS. Xanth made me think of Piers Anthony 😂

Edit: I forgot to comment on the audio! You're teasing! If you do an audio, you have to read from the story! Juste fais-le! Next time! ;)

Thanks, Alexander. And yes, a looser tongue perhaps when around Zinn compared with Cloud.

I did wonder about italics, but wanted to experiment with something a bit more jarring giving it was more of an induced-state rather than simply her thoughts interjecting.

And yes, with more fragments comes a bigger ask of you, the reader, to feel comfortable reading in this world. Perhaps a table of contents would begin to help, here.

I can assure you there is no hidden intertextuality with Piers Anthony's series, haha. Hadn't ever heard of it!

RE: audio, OK OK, I'll try!

Yep, I got the extra separation intent. // can work, sure. As I mentioned over on Notes, anything goes. Even different fonts! I even made up a new alphabet and runes for my buried Fantasy novel (it was my Tolkien phase). With these stylistic measures, have to see how it will fit in the finished text.

Re: Xanth... yeah let's not go there. ;)

And re: audio. do a joint recording with Jo! 😁

I want to hang with Jisa and Zinn! Amazing how much you can flesh out characters through a few lines of dialog and cinematic direction. And Midjourney, what a drearily perfect backdrop. I have a hunch your dreams are as textured and detailed as Midjourney. ☺️

Nathan, you should do ASMR audio recordings. You have a very soothing voice. Hehe! This was another enjoyable reading I enjoyed on the toilet (that was one of the options I decided to choose because nothing else fits my humor lol). I appreciate you introducing some of the lore sparingly yet compellingly. And I appreciate how experimental you are with your writing. It's like a prose-poem hybrid of sorts from time to time. I'm easily transported in Jisa's thoughts, worries, and desires.

Not at all, I enjoyed the new to me characters...I love fiction with deep characters where you have many questions. I’m into a reread of the “Red Rising” series, and have been working my way into Dune lately.

I haven't ever read Red Rising, though I've heard many a good thing.

I'm going to do a reread of Dune quite soon. Has been quite a few years since I've read it and would like to be fully immersed before Part 2 releases at the cinema next year.

Ah, Hello Nathan! That was fun... I love Zinn, he's got good friend energy; and now we have the beginnings of a daring plan... I also like the //interpolations// but I still just have this terrible feeling that Jisa's being played by Ocean, however sweet the memory... 😶
